When to Get Permission to Republish and How to Apply
Anytime you borrow more than 50 consecutive words from an Alpha Omega Publications (AOP) publication, you need to request permission in writing (not via e-mail). The AOP permissions program is administered by AOP’s copyright department. Write to AOP’s copyright department at the address at the end of this document, and Amber Davis will guide you through the process of applying for permission.
What to Include in Your Permissions Letter:
• exactly what you want to republish; photocopy the pages containing the text that interests you, highlight the relevant passages, and attach them to your letter
• the title and nature of the publication in which you want to republish AOP material (e.g., book chapter, journal article, brochure, Web-based document, CD-ROM, handbook, handout, or other type of text)
• the size and nature of your intended audience and who your publisher will be (e.g., a 4,000-copy print run for a commercial publisher of ESL textbooks; 50 copies of a handout for an in-service teacher workshop)

AOP owns the copyright to all materials posted on AOP’s web-based curriculums including the Alpha Omega Academy and Classes2You.com, with the exception of articles with bylines indicating other authors/copyright owners. AOP grants permission for one download for personal use of any document posted on AOP’s web-based curriculums.

For Course Packs
For permission to photocopy materials for course packs, you must contact AOP’s copyright department at the address listed at the end of this document.
For Library Reserves
Libraries may place one paper copy of any article or chapter from an AOP publication on reserve without having to write for permission. AOP does not currently grant permission for materials to be placed on electronic reserves.
Automatic Denial of Permission
AOP will not grant permission for the following types of requests
• reproducing AOP material in Web-based, CD-ROM, electronic library reserves, or other nonprint formats.
• duplicating entire books, chapters, or videos
