2011 Homeschool Convention Winner

After receiving thousands of entries this summer at homeschool conventions throughout the United States, Alpha Omega Publications is pleased to announce Pam Lee of Salem, Oregon, as the winner of a new Dell XPS 17 laptop!

Upon notification of winning the prize, Pam said, "My family and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and Alpha Omega Publications. The computer is wonderful, and the timing outstanding. As a busy home educating mom of five, I use a computer all day long. My current laptop is about to give up, and I really did not know where I would find the funds to purchase a new one.

"My reasons for home education are varied, and the priorities have shifted over the years. To begin with, my husband and I both felt that even with no education degree, the one on one ratio had to provide a better environment for learning. We also believe that a lot of basics have been lost in the pursuit of less important subjects. However, the ultimate reason we home educate is that we want to transmit our values to our children and not leave it up to government dictates. As parents, we are called by the Lord to educate our children all day long. It would be difficult to accomplish that if they were in school for six hours a day. Ultimately, we respect the rights of parents to choose the educational path for their children as they see fit. For us, that is a rigorous, classical Christian education that cannot easily be found anywhere else but the home.

"Again, thank you for the computer. Rest assured, it will go to good use."
