5 Easy Ways to Refresh Your Home

We spend a lot of time in our homes throughout the winter months, which has a tendency to make us a little stir crazy. Instead of just waiting for this silver-white winter to melt into spring, try these five easy suggestions from Do South Magazine to refresh your living spaces and make it more enjoyable to homeschool (and relax) in your home.

1. Declutter.
According to tips from organizational master Marie Kondo, a tidy home starts with getting rid of things you don’t need. In addition, you’ll want to consider these 10 habits that lead to a cleaner home.

2. Simplify your laundry routine.
There’s not one right way to do laundry, but if the mountains of dirty clothes have you overwhelmed, it’s probably a sign to try something new. Try a daily laundry schedule or reduce the number of the towels in your home. Maybe it’s time to teach your kids a new chore.

3. Create a fitness space.
We know you’re busy but carving out just a few minutes for exercise can do wonders both emotionally and physically. Try this one-week, 10-minute workout plan that you can even do with your kids.

4. Reconfigure your furniture.
There may not be easier way to refresh your home than by simply rearranging the furniture you already have. If you’re a visual learner and planner, download our free homeschool room planner kit.

5. Add greenery.
Adding a few plants can make your home feel more inviting and help serve as a natural air purifying system. If you do add some green to your home, you can use it as an opportunity for a homeschool lesson on how plants grow using our plant cycle worksheet.
