AOP Around the World: Kuda Vana

Something we love about going to homeschool conventions is connecting with all the families who use AOP and getting to hear their stories. This past year, we had the pleasure of hearing the story of Kuda Vana, and we are excited to share their story with you.

Nestled along the Eastern Highlands mountain range near Mutare, Zimbabwe, Kuda Vana is a ministry that offers support to vulnerable local children by providing safe, nurturing group homes where children can stay through adulthood. However, they are not your typical orphanage. Their goal and mission go beyond simply housing the children as they grow older.

At Kuda Vana, they strive to care for the whole child, preparing them emotionally, academically, and spiritually to deal with their past and to create a bright future. The staff psychologist provides emotional support, and the on-site school prepares the children for life after Kuda Vana.

In a country with 95% unemployment, Kuda Vana knows that education is the key to the future. That’s why for their educational resources, the folks at Kuda Vana have chosen AOP’s LIFEPAC curriculum to give their students the best preparation to think critically, solve problems creatively, and love learning.

We are so honored to be part of Kuda Vana’s story and to see these children of God thriving as they grow in wisdom and love for the Lord.
