AOP Offers Scholarship for Homeschoolers Affected by Medical Situation

To help homeschoolers affected by a medical situation or circumstance, AOP is offering families the opportunity to apply for the Jan Groen Scholarship to help cover the cost of homeschooling materials.
To apply, complete the scholarship application and submit it to custserv@aop.com. Applications may also be submitted by mail to:

All applications must be received by Friday, July 17, 2015. The scholarship committee will review applications and select recipients by Friday, August 7, 2015.

*Applicants must explain a medical situation or circumstance to qualify.

Is this scholarship for a student who has a medical situation or a for a parent who has a medical situation and cannot work? Or is it for both?

What qualifies as a medical situation? Does learning disabilities ADHD qualify?

The scholarship is intended for families who have a student or students with a medical situation. ADHD is one example of a medical situation that would qualify.

Does autism qualify as a medical situation? Also if we have already purchased our curriculum for the coming year can we still apply?

Autism certainly counts as a medical situation; however, unfortunately, the scholarship does not apply to already purchased curriculum.
