Arwen Christian, an eight-year-old homeschool student from Thomaston, Georgia, won first place in Alpha Omega Publications’ 2014 international coloring contest. For her outstanding efforts, AOP awarded Arwen a complete set of homeschool curriculum.
“She’s just grinning from ear to ear,” said Eric Christian after delivering the news to his daughter, who says she adores art. “Thank you. This is such a blessing to our family.”
The contest ran throughout July and drew 223 entries from across the world. Several rounds of judging narrowed down the vibrant submissions from children ages 3 to 10 to just three winners.
Anna Stauffer, a 10-year-old from Wilson, Wisconsin, and Emma Abajian, a four-year-old from Sierra Madre, California, won second and third place, respectively.
“Four or five of the kids entered,” said Annette Stauffer, Anna’s mom. “We spent half a day coloring.”
Honorable mentions go to Zechariah Bare, Nina Falcon, Vivian Rice, Joyce Tan Jia Jing, Joel Teoh Zhi Liang, and Grace Townson.
Congratulations to all the kids who entered!
