How to Recycle Christmas Cards into Decorations + Cute Card Displays

Not sure what to do with the 90th Christmas card of the season that, despite your best rearranging efforts, just won’t fit on the refrigerator? Check out a few of our favorite ideas from Better Homes and Gardens for displaying your Christmas cards this season, and get tips for recycling them into decorations for years to come.

Center Piece
Fill a vase with seasonally appropriate twigs. Wind a piece of decorative ribbon through the sticks and attach the cards to it using paper clips, clothespins, or binder clips.

Jingle Bell Card Stand
When flipped upside down, giant jingle bells make a cute holder for your cards and look great on a mantel, table top, or shelf.

Wreath
Cut your Christmas cards into circles of varying size. Arrange the circles in the shape of a wreath and fasten the overlapping portions together with glue. Punch a hole in the top of the wreath, thread a string or ribbon through, and tie the ends in a knot or bow. Use the loop to hang the wreath in your home.

Garland
Use cookie cutters to trace holiday shapes on your Christmas cards. Cut out the shapes, punch a hole in the top, and use ribbon or string to tie it to a strand of garland.

Ornaments
Cut off the front of your Christmas cards and lay them on a piece of foil with the image facing up. Fold the foil over the edges of the card, creating a border around the image. Punch a hole in the top and use a piece of ribbon or string to hang the ornament on your tree.
