Joanna Gaines Releases Children’s Book

Fixer Upper star and Magnolia Market owner Joanna Gaines has released a new children’s book titled “The World Needs Who You Were Made to Be.”

Illustrated by Julianna Swaney, the book tells the story of a group of kids who come together to build their own hot air balloons. Along the way, the children in the story learn what they can contribute using their unique skills and personalities.

“It’s a declaration for seeing and celebrating the differences in one another,” Gaines wrote on the official Magnolia website. “It’s a proclamation for loving the person next to you for who they are, as well as loving yourself for who you are. And it’s a reminder that the world needs both you and me.”

A mother to five children ranging in age from 2 to 15, Gaines said her own children inspired the story.

“One of my greatest joys as a mother has been to watch them grow and change and become who they are,” she wrote. “My hope is for each of them to know, deep in their bones, that who they are is good, and that the differences that they see in each other and in themselves are to be celebrated.”

“The World Needs Who You Were Made to Be” is the second children’s book that Gaines has written. Her first book, “We Are the Gardeners,” was published in 2019.

Along with her husband, Chip, Joanna Gaines gained her popularity and massive following from their reality television series Fixer Upper, which originally aired on HGTV for five seasons from 2013-2018. In August, the couple announced the show would return to the air with the launch of Magnolia Network, which is replacing DIY Network sometime in 2021.
