Life-Size Replica of Noah’s Ark Built in Kentucky

Following the success of the Creation Museum, Answers in Genesis and founder Ken Ham have opened Ark Encounter, a full-size replica of Noah’s Ark based on the dimensions in the Bible.

Measuring seven stories high and reaching across approximately one and a half football fields, the Ark Encounter is being heralded as the largest freestanding, timber-frame structure in the world.

“In a world that is becoming increasingly secularized and biased, it’s time for Christians to do something of this size and this magnitude,” Ham was quoted as saying on the National Religious Broadcasters' website. “I believe you’re going to find all sorts of people from all walks of life with all sorts of religious backgrounds who are going to come here. And even if they don’t share our biblical view, they can’t help but be impressed by the structure, craftsmanship, and by the attention to detail of the world-class exhibits inside. And who knows? Maybe they’ll be challenged to even talk about the Bible.”

Approximately 45 minutes south of Cincinnati, Ark Encounter is located off I-75 just southeast of Williamstown, Kentucky. Tickets are $40 for adults and $28 for children between the ages of 5-12. Kids under the age of 5 are free. A combination ticket with the Creation Museum, a 45-minute drive away in Petersburg, Kentucky, is $60 for adults and $34 for children.
