School Spirit

We never had a mascot for our homeschool, and my children never knew the excitement of school pep rallies. However, what we lacked in school spirit for team sports was made up by the Holy Spirit in Christian ministry. As we reached out to others, the presence and power of the Lord filled us to accomplish His will. Being used by the Lord and seeing His mighty power displayed was much more exciting than any football, baseball, or basketball game.

When Jesus gathered His team of 12 players, He taught them about Himself and His heavenly Father. However, Christ also knew His disciples were going to need more. To remain His faithful witnesses on Earth after His return to heaven, He knew they were going to need a new team spirit. Before He ascended, He strictly commanded them to wait in Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit came upon them (Acts 1:4). At Pentecost, the disciples were baptized and empowered with the Holy Spirit to begin evangelizing the world.

Does your homeschooling seem to be missing something? Do you commit each day to the Lord and ask the Holy Spirit to control your schedule and activities? God knows you need more than just your own wisdom and determined spirit to be a homeschooling winner. Successful homeschooling requires a school spirit that comes from above. Only the Holy Spirit's power can help you find the victory for every homeschooling challenge. "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you" (Acts 1:8a).

Father, I would be so lost homeschooling without Your power and constant care. Fill me today with the Holy Spirit and use me to accomplish Your will. In the blessed name of Jesus, Amen.

Our children are not missing out on a thing ! Being in both Public and Private schools, the so called \"team\" spirit, is nothing but hype. Nothing \"real\" about it. Actual \"team \" spirit should be about everyone being there for eachother, being there when your team, classmates need you. In our experience, it\'s about groups of selfish \"cliques\", no Jesus involved there.

the author is right, keep your team spirit for the Holy Spirit, that\'s what is important.

I will pray dilligently for you, definatley, Homeschool is the way toi go. My son has never been more calm happy, and attentive since we started homeschooling. It will bond you and your children even closer, they will learn better, and feel better abiout themselves. I pray your husband will agree with the decision. You will be amazed with all the joy it brings you and your children. I wish I coud go back in time, and instead of starting homeschool in 7th grade, I wish it would have been from Kindergarten. It would have made such a difference in my son\'s life. But, I am still glad that at least we started this year, we still have many happy years to go.

God Bless !

Taking control and responsibility to educate our God given children is definatly a \"Holy Spirit \" endevor.

We need Jesus constantly. Our society has been at times quietly and now blatently excluding our Creator and Savior from every portion of life.

To me the process and calling of Home Educating is and of itself is one way to insure there are people in our world that still will honor the calling to follow Christ Jesus as he leads, guides and directs, corrects and comforts his people.

He is our own personal cheerleader and he will send us encouragement

in the difficult stretches and when we are tempted to become discouraged.

From the moment we are born we are following some one and watching how people conduct themselves. If we are not dilligent and careful we will

join the \" brainwashed\" into a place where we forget this was our Creators plan not the other way around. Already isn\'t it ironic that so many think Home Education/Home Schooling is an odd choice not the priviledge it truly is?

My prayers go out to all who posted here and to any parent who has recieved the \" calling\" but is scared to go forward.

Trust Jesus. He will work out all of the details....

My prayer is that Jesus turns my family into home school winners. I vow to start this day reaching out and showing my gratitude for this break where I can be renewed and restored in the word.
