The 5 Best People in Your Homeschool Support System

You’re welcome to try as long as you want, but eventually, everyone realizes that you cannot homeschool without help. Of course, that doesn’t mean you’re a failure by any means! It simply means that God created us to be active members of a larger community. While there are many helpful resources out there, here are the five best people to have in your homeschool support system:

A friend. One of a handful of numbers in your cell phone you can always remember, this is your best friend with whom you share virtually everything, whether it’s homeschool related or not.

A homeschool advocate. When you’re ready to throw in the towel and “call the yellow bus,” this person can always be there to put a fire in your belly and give you a renewed commitment to homeschooling.

A friend who was homeschooled. Providing the perspective of hindsight, this friend is living proof that homeschooling works, while providing encouragement from her own experience as a homeschool student.

A partner. Many single-parents are highly successful homeschoolers, but few things can compare to the affection and encouragement you can receive from a loving and faithful spouse.

A homeschooling role model. You love her kids and maybe even not-so-secretly wish your kids could behave like hers more often. She is also your go-to for any of your homeschooling questions from curriculum to homeschooling schedules.
