Why Jesus Is Better Than Santa Claus

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved" (John 3:16-17).

With the busyness of the holiday rush and the constant bombardment of commercialism at this time of the year, it becomes easy to lose focus on what is truly important. Put things in proper perspective with this lighthearted look at the real reason for the season.

This is really nice. Wonderful to share with the kids.

First of all, why would any Christian homeschooling mother want to waste time comparing Santa to Jesus? What a waste of time to entertain such ridiculousness! Santa is completely irrelevant if you are raising your children up in The Lord... There is none like Jesus, and thus leaves no reason to compare him to ANY other entity, fictitious or real. Also, who would want to raise a question in their child\'s mind that there might actually be an argument regarding Jesus\' value & significance versus Santa\'s.. Additionally, the writing was terrible, and I\'m not the slightest bit impressed.

I grew up with Santa and not God. But for my kids, they know only God and no Santa. CHRISTmas is a remembering of the best gift ever given: The gift of salvation through Jesus Chirst. The world may stop saying \"Merry Christmas\", but hidden in their choice word is still a HOLY-day.\"

When I read this the first thing that came to my mind is: \"Yes, that is exactly what satan does\". I am telling you that satan is real and he would love to destroy your child. You do need to teach your child that there is a real enemy that wants to destroy them. We need to guard our hearts and teach our children to guard theirs. All the above \"Santa\" is a characteristic of satan!!

What I am trying to say is your child does need the know the devices of satan, so they know to go in the opposite direction when it comes.

Wow some of you are really grumpy! Our children know without a doubt the reason for the season. However, there is no harm in letting them have a gift from Santa under the tree ... he is not Satan. This is a magical season of worship, giving, and hope. Teach them His ways and they will not stray ... but let them have their Santa while they still believe. This article is harmless, and presents a good way to show the sacrifice and love of our Savior to little ones.

I agree with Jacilyn. She took the words right out of my mouth. As a matter of fact. These children are just that! Let them think like a child. I promise they will see and hear about Santa everywhere. So if that is so, let this article of comparing be yet just another gentle tool to teach them about the Lord.

How about Santa Clause=satan lucas

Almighty=Omega

Or faith in \"satan lucas\" or faith in Yehweh

which do you show is righteous to not only your children but society in America?

No wonder some folks think of Christians as harsh religious kill joys. I agree with Nancy and Jacilyn. I did tell my kids how the legend of Saint Nicholous came about. The Bishop who cared for children who had no joy. Of course, the ultimate joy is to be found in Jesus Christ. But little things do help, in the case of children, a magical celebration with toys, and the delight received when they give to others. I never really pushed the Santa ides, but I saw no harm in their believing as young children. I intend to share this \"why Jesus is better...\" in class today.
