Help your child explore potential careers in banking and other related fields. Part of the Finance career cluster, Monarch Banking Services Careers is a Career and Technical Education (CTE) elective that helps students in grades 9-12 gain an understanding of the basic functions of customer transactions, cash drawer activity, check collection processes, and other customer service related transactions. Students also study the technical and people skills necessary to aid consumers with setting up an account, processing a loan, or establishing a business. In addition, the semester-long course explores the impact technology has had on banking and related industries throughout the years. Purchase of this individual Monarch course grants access to one child for 18 months beginning on the date of activation.
This semester-long elective goes beyond a survey of careers within the banking industry to explore the services banks offer and how they operate. Throughout the course, students in grades 9-12 gain the skills and confidence required to land their dream job within the market.
Topics of study during the semester include different types of financial reports and how they are used, different types of banks and how they are structured, the lending process, bank products, customer relationships, financial planning services, and banking careers.
