What is Step Up for Students?
Step Up For Students is a scholarship program in Florida that provides tuition assistance to families
who want their children to participate in homeschooling. The partnership between Step Up For Students
and Monarch Homeschool provides families in Florida with a valuable opportunity to access a high-quality
homeschooling curriculum and receive financial assistance to cover the costs.
The organization was founded in 2001 and has since become one of the largest scholarship-granting
organizations in the United States. The main focus of Step Up for Students is providing scholarships so
that any family can send their students to private schools including online, at-home learning academies.
The organization offers two main scholarship programs: the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship and the Family
Empowerment Scholarship.
What is an Educational Savings Acccount (ESA)?
An Educational Savings Account (ESA) is a tax-advantaged investment account designed to help individuals
save for qualified educational expenses. Families may choose to use an ESA for a variety of reasons,
including the tax benefits, flexibility, and control. ESA funds can be used for qualified education
expenses at any eligible institution, including K-12 and
higher education expenses at public, private, and religious schools.

Christ-centered Learning with Ignite Christian Academy
At-home learning has enabled Madeline to not only pursue her
passion as a ballet dancer and teacher but to also keep her faith as the focus of her education. After
using our AOP curriculum, transitioning to Ignite Christian Academy as a high school student empowered
Madeline to do schoolwork and to train for ballet when she was most productive while also being active in
the student body volunteering, being National Honor Society President, and on the student newspaper.
