Can You Guess the Most Popular Disney Movie in the World?

Over the past few months, one positive for most families has been an opportunity for more quality time together. Especially with many confined to staying indoors under quarantine, it’s no surprise that one of the more popular activities is family movie night, and with over 50 million monthly subscribers, Disney Plus may be the most common go-to source for family-friendly entertainment.

With that background in mind, Parkdean Resorts, a company with more than 65 vacation destinations in the United Kingdom, thought it would be interesting to see what Disney movies are the most watched throughout the world. Using data from Google, they compiled the following top 10 list of Disney films by search volume.

1. Frozen (1.9 million)
2. Avatar (1.8 million)
3. Cars (589k)
4. Aladdin (528k)
5. A Bug’s Life (469k)
6. Cinderella (240k)
7. Mulan (188k)
8. The Lion King (180k)
9. High School Musical (168k)
10. Ratatouille (123k)

The company also broke down their research by country with Frozen a clear winner in the United States, accounting for nearly 70% of all Frozen searches on its own. Other countries that chose Frozen at #1 included Norway, which serves as the host country for the fictional city of Arendelle, as well as Argentina, Australia, and Russia. Meanwhile, north of the border in Canada, their top choice was the 1961 classic 101 Dalmatians.
