Popsicle Flag Summer Craft

The history of Flag Day is slightly obscure, but according to usflag.org, BJ Cigrand, a school teacher in Wisconsin, was the first person to observe June 14 as “Flag Birthday” in 1885. Through the years, Flag Day continued to be celebrated in various ways until President Truman officially signed an Act of Congress designating June 14 as National Flag Day each year.

To celebrate Flag Day this year, create this cute summer craft with your homeschool family. Best of all, you can use these popsicle stick flags as repeat decorations when Independence Day rolls around next month!
