Simple Homemade Christmas Cards and Gift Tags

As Christmas creeps up, make cute cards for your friends and family with this kid-friendly craft. With slight alterations, the fun and easy activity can double as a way to make charming gift tags for your presents.

Supplies
Green paint chip samples
Brown and yellow construction paper
Card stock in the color of your choice
Pen/pencil
Scissors
Star-shaped hole punch (optional)

Directions
1. Use a ruler to draw two slanted lines lengthwise down the paint chip sample, forming a tall, narrow triangle.

2. Cut the triangle out with scissors.

3. Trim a small rectangle from the piece of brown construction paper and glue it to the bottom of the paint chip triangle, forming a tree stump.

4. Fold a piece of card stock in half and glue the Christmas tree to the front.

5. Using a star-shaped hole punch or a scissors, cut a small star from the yellow construction paper and glue it to the top of the tree.

Gift Tag Variation
To make gift tags for your presents, make smaller triangles using only a couple colors on each paint chip sample. Cut the card stock into small 2x4 inch rectangles and paste the tree on front. Use a pen or marker to write “To: ____” and “From: ____” on the tag. Then, attach it to the gift using tape.
