Things I Wish Someone Told Me on the First Day of Homeschool

The beginning of a new school year is an exciting time for kids, but it is also an important time for Mom and Dad. Whether you’re nervous, excited, or entirely terrified, here are a few things that are nice to hear at the start of a new school year.

What you’re doing is worth it.

Sometimes your kid won’t get it. THAT’S OK.

No one is perfect, no matter what their Instagram feed looks like.

Homeschooling is a marathon, not a sprint.

Your children are a gift, even when they’re driving you crazy.

It’s ok to not know what you’re doing.

You’re never alone, even when you feel like you are.

Asking for help is a sign of strength.

The love of learning is natural in each child. Your job is to remove its obstacles.

Your highest calling is to build character.
